Miles2Go Driving School – Terms & Conditions
1. Health & Safety Rules for Driving Lessons
For your safety and to ensure effective learning, please read and follow the rules below. By booking a lesson, you agree to these terms. Miles2Go Driving School Limited reserves the right to modify these rules and policies at any time, in accordance with business requirements or changes in applicable laws.
Driving Licence Requirement:
- You must bring a valid driver licence to every lesson.
- This is a legal requirement set by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA).
- If you arrive without your licence, the lesson cannot go ahead. It will be marked as attended, and no reschedule or refund will be provided.
Beginner Safety
- For the first few lessons, new drivers will practice basic steering and vehicle control on quiet or low-traffic roads, as assessed by the instructor.
- This approach helps build confidence and ensures safety before moving into busier areas.
Schedule Changes
- The driving instructor (DI) will ask you to confirm a fixed day of the week for your lessons.
- If you need to change your schedule after confirmation, please allow at least 2 weeks’ notice, as instructor schedules are often fully booked — especially on weekends and public holidays.
- Rescheduling is subject to DI availability, and there is no guarantee that your preferred new day will be available.
- No refunds will be given in cases where students request a schedule change after confirmation.
Lesson Frequency & Practice Between Lessons
- We recommend and allow one lesson per week to allow time for practice and learning between sessions.
- To build confidence and improve faster, we strongly encourage students to practice driving outside of lessons with a qualified supervisor – such as a family member or friend who has held a NZ full licence for more than 2 years – in a safe vehicle.
- Practicing in quiet streets, car parks, or low-traffic areas near home helps reinforce what you learn in lessons.
- Lessons alone are not enough to become test-ready — consistent practice outside of lessons is essential for progress.
- More frequent lessons may be arranged if required (e.g., test preparation), subject to instructor availability.
Cancellations & No-Shows
- Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations to avoid charges. Cancellations within 24 hours will be charged in full, except in genuine emergencies (proof may be required).
- If you do not attend a booked lesson without notice, it will be marked as completed, charged in full, and cannot be rescheduled.
- For full details, please refer to our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Delays & Buffer Time
- Please allow a 15–20-minute buffer before and after your scheduled lesson to allow for traffic or unforeseen delays.
- If your instructor is delayed, you will be contacted as soon as possible. The full lesson will still be delivered, or it will be rescheduled at no extra cost.
- Refunds will not be issued for traffic-related delays, but lessons will always be completed in full or rescheduled if necessary.
